Working at height: harness check before every shift

Applies to: everyone who works more than 2 metres above the ground or an edge, at [site or company].

What you must do
1. Check your harness, lanyard and anchor point before every shift. If anything is frayed, cut or damaged, do not use it. Tell [supervisor name].
2. Only work at height if you have been trained and signed off for it by [name or role].
3. Never work at height alone. Someone must be able to see you or reach you quickly.
4. Keep tools secured so they cannot fall. Keep the ground below clear and barricaded.
5. Stop work in strong wind, rain or poor light and tell your supervisor.

Why: a fall from height is one of the most common ways people are killed or badly hurt on site.
